#MEandPPE

meandppe

We created the #MEandPPE campaign to encourage people to wear masks to protect themselves and their communities as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

Even with the vaccine being distributed, it is so crucial that people remain vigilant and follow the CDC recommendations this winter. We hope this reminder—that we are all in this together, but it starts with ‘me’—can help get us through the winter with less loss of life and tragedy.

We urge businesses to join the #MeandPPE social media campaign and share photos of their employees staying safe and wearing masks using the MeandPPE hashtag or tagging @MEandPPE on Facebook or Instagram.

Donations

Recovery Without Barriers

Recovery Without Barriers is a community group based in Upper Darby. This organization assists individuals in Delaware County who struggle with drug addiction. Their primary goal is to help those in need get access to treatment and recovery programs.

The COVID-19 pandemic had an enormous impact on every aspect of our lives this past year, and the prolonged stress and isolation have led to increased rates of substance abuse across the U.S. Increased rates in COVID among the homeless is also a huge issue, as many do not have access to masks and other PPE necessary to protect themselves from the virus.

Current addiction treatment and recovery services can be complex and difficult to access, especially with COVID-19 restrictions in place. When someone needs help, any delay can be critical. Recovery Without Barriers works to provide educational resources and assistance that eases the burden of seeking treatment, so these individuals and their families can continue the path of recovery.

To support the work Recovery Without Barriers does, SUNLINE Supply has donated 200 PPE care packages that the organization can distribute to families and individuals affected by drug addiction. Each care package contains a pair of winter gloves, heavy-knit socks, a beanie hat and three KN95 masks.

SUNLINE has also donated 400 additional masks to the outreach program to protect organizational volunteers, those seeking treatment and any other individuals in need.

St. Francis Inn

The St. Francis Inn in Kensington is a Franciscan Eucharistic organization that dedicates its time to assisting the poor and homeless of Philadelphia. They work to meet the people's immediate, everyday needs in their community by serving daily meals and providing clean clothing.

Their facilities include the Inn, where the organization serves meals at tables restaurant-style, and Marie's Closet thrift store, where guests can redeem vouchers for clean sets of seasonally appropriate clothing.

The St. Francis Inn philosophy is to respect human dignity and empower folks to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. They work to address structural injustices and other factors that often lead to homelessness.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Francis has assisted those who feel the impacts of widespread unemployment and financial insecurity resulting from business closures and lockdowns.

To help St. Francis provide cold-weather gear and COVID-19 protection to its guests, SUNLINE Supply donated more than 100 PPE care packages to the organization to distribute to those in need in the Philadelphia area. As mentioned above, each package contains a pair of winter gloves, heavy-knit socks, a beanie hat and three KN95 masks.
